North Bondi Rebuild

A touch of style, some new space and added scenery.

To rebuild or to renovate? In this case it was….both!

Sitting on the headland at North Bondi, this apartment complex possessed opportunity in bounds.

Giles Tribe Architects were tasked with a complete redesign of the interior apartments complimented with an exterior face lift, all the while, leaving the existing structure in place.

Given the scale of the project, the opportunity to create additional levels and apartments was too hard to ignore so an attic level was added to a the 2nd floor apartments offering an uninterrupted view of Bondi Beach in its entirety.

Not content with just going up, additional excavation was conducted to optimise the land area and additional apartments were added to the Lower Ground Floor at the expense of old store rooms and garages bringing the complex to 4 levels in height and a total of 21 units.

Evolution Windows and Doors were selected to supply and install the Elevate™ Commercial Series 400 framing system to meet the high weather performance demanded by the coastal location and to compliment the aesthetic styling of the modern French design.

The commercial frames were then fitted with Elevate™ Series 411 Bifold Doors and Series 50 French Doors to achieve a quintessential French terrace styling on the exterior. These were complimented with the Elevate™ Architectural Series Double Hung and Awning Windows in AWS Sable Brilliance Matt Finish. The contrasting colour pallets of the framing and building colour added a high class finish to the elegant appearance of the design.

The end result delivered a larger, higher performing coastal residence for the owners which capitalised on the available views and prioritised styled, liveability for the occupants.
